BNSF CRUDE BY RAIL TRAINING

BNSF Railway will offer Crude By Rail Training workshops to municipal first responders in 2020. This no cost training program will provide first responders with the basic knowledge, skill and abilities to respond to incidents involving Crude By Rail (CBR). The program is delivered over 3 days (24 hours) with over 60% of the time spent on field exercises.

Courses will be offered at two locations:

TEEX – October 12-14, 2020 – FULL

TEEX – October 14-16, 2020 – FULL

NOTE: Once a class is full, if you would like to be added to the waitlist in the event of a cancellation, please select a date below and follow the prompts.  Once you are notified of an open seat, you will have 24 hours to register before the next person is notified.  Registration is on a first come/first serve basis.

Crude By Rail

The field training evolutions will include a demonstration of crude oil fires, boil overs and application of foam to crude oil incidents, as well as advanced fire fighting techniques.

The evaluation will culminate in a full-scale derailment exercise.

  • No cost to attendees for tuition
  • No cost to attendees for travel expenses – air, rental car and hotel are prepaid. Items such as airline baggage fees, evening meals, rental car gasoline and home airport travel mileage expense (if applicable) will be reimbursed through a prepaid Visa card.

Prerequisites

    1. Fire Fighter 1 or Equivalent Level of Training
    2. Hazardous Materials Operations
